1978 Cadillac de Ville OPERA COUPE

Special Limited Production Vehicle - SUPLER LOW MILES

You are bidding on a brown 1978 Cadillac de Ville Opera Coupe with tan leather interior. The car has ONLY 3,912 miles!! It is powered by a GM 350 V-8 (not sure if its a chevy engine or not) with an automatic transmission. The current owner is the original owner's son. He kept the vehicle garaged in Florida, and brought it up into Pennsylvania in 1980. The car has a good clean PA title and has never been wrecked or had any other damage repair. The car has never seen rain and only about 350 miles were driven on it in Pennsylvania.

This Cadillac was completed by the Grandeur Motor Car Corporation on 4/6/78. Grandeur Motors was officially sanctioned by Cadillac to alter the vehicles. What they would do, is cut 36 inches out of the rear section of the vehicle (the back seat) and add 36 inches in front of the hood. This saved them from having to alter the actual frame of the car. Options include A/C, power locks, windows and mirrors, power seats, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and others.

The bottom line is that this car is in awesome shape. The engine runs very strong and the transmission shifts smoother than you can imagine. Everything inside and out works. The interior is 110% nice! The car has seen no abuse and was cared for and well maintained since it was new. If you are seriously interested, come and check the vehicle out for yourself! It is located in Elizabeth Township, about 40 minuets southeast of downtown Pittsburgh. Email me for an appointment time and you can see just how clean the car really is! The chrome bumpers on the car polished out nicely. All of the chrome trim is very nice. I believe the front grill is plastic, and the chrome is just a little... imperfect. It still looks very nice, but its definitely the weak link in evluating the chrome trim.

Above the rear wheels there is a vague spiderweb in the paint. My best guess is that after 25 years, the putty they probably used to build up the wheel wells (or whatever material is under there) seperated a little bit from expanding and contracting due to temperature changes over the years. The spider web is very vague, but is noticeable if you are giving the car a good look over. It's the same way on the other rear wheel well also.

The wheels are all chrome wire wheels, and the tires are originals.

The engine is a GM 350 V-8 with electronic fuel injection. It runs very, very well. It is linked to an automatic transmission - my best guess is a 700R4? I honestly don't know, maybe a Turbo 350 or 400. (I don't know too much about these old Cadillacs.) Everything under the hood seems to be in working order.

The interior is finished in gorgeous brown leather. The interior is 100% nice because the owner treated it properly before he put it into storage. All of the leather and other upholstry is immaculate. All of the options inside work, however I have no way of testing the Air Conditioning, as its too cold outside right now to tell if its working.
